Unconditional Offer

Today has been a day full of joy. I am so happy. I woke up this morning only to have recieved a letter from LCFoffering me an unconditional offer after my interview last week :o. It hasn't even been a week since I had the interview and I don't think they have finished conducting interviews yet but already they have responded. If anyone read one of my previous posts about LCF you will realise how nervous i was about the interview and what the outcome would be. I am on 'cloud 9' right about now and I cant believe that this september I will be attending University of the Arts, London College of fashion. I am few steps away from reaching my dreams & goals; everything seems to be coming together like I planned. All I need to focus on now is securing myself a really good internship in fashion. I can do it, I won't give up!!

The Intern

Trying to secure an internship is not easy at all. I thought it was going to be as easy as calling up then get asked to start the next week. It doesnt work that way I guess. I have spent most of today on the phone just calling different clothing companies to find out if they take on interns. Most of the companies I spoke to where looking for graduates or students of which I am neither at the moment.  Although, there where a few that sounded promising; I will pursue it in the morning instead because I am a bit tired to be editing and e-mailing cv's at this time of the night. To be quite honest I am not fussy about which company I get an internship with or what kind of internship it is; just as long as it is in the fashion industry and involves elements of marketing or buying i will be quite happy. I hope to get exposure within the industry and gain experience which i will benefit from after graduating. These days it is not easy to get a job without experience. Make the most of your time to better yourself and develop your skills.

P.s. Any advice is appreciated. Feel free to offer me advice based on your experiences.

LCF

Today I had my assesment interview for Fashion Business at LCF (London College of Fashion). I aplied for the couse a couple of months ago and got invited to an interview which was today. I was so nervous I couldn't even sleep last night or eat breakfast this morning. LCF is not what people make it out to be; from what I have heard about the institution I was expecting to see snobbish personalities from fellow candidates and stuck up lectures. My expectations where obviously proved wrong; everyone was really lovely, we all got along really well and all got to know eachother. Even the Interviewers where lovely. I think I may have found myself some potential friends for september :). For the interview we had a group interview with the course leader and the senior lecturer then we had to write a short maths test. To be quite honest I am worried about how the group interview went because I let nerves get the best of me and started going off topic at some of the questions that where asked :/. I hope they don't think i'm a bit pompous or wierd. The next 2 weeks are going to be so nerve wracking just waiting to hear the outcome. I pray that I get accepted, wish me luck!

Michael Kors

I came accross this video on Youtube earlier. It's the Michael Kors Fall 2012. This guy never seems to dissapoint me. I love the edgyness and uniqueness of his garments/work. His catwalk pieces are not too over the top (OTT) nor are they simple; they are just fine. Also i am loving the sequin pieces that apear towards the end of this video from 08:00mins. Sequin are a must have this year, they defianetly make your outfit stand out. Just becareful not to over do it and end up looking like a christmas tree lol be subtle.

Weekend in London

Finally I have managed to write another post. Sorry it's a bit late, I have been very busy. On friday I was telling you about how I was going to be attending my friends' 21st birthday and that I would upload a picture of my outfit.  The weekend was great, we stayed in West End London in a 5* hotel called 'One Aldwych' which was very beautiful. You might want to put that on your 'to visit' list lol. Anyways back to the suject.

My outfit: I have had my eyes on a pair of knicker shorts for a while, I think they give your outfit a sexy but sophisticated look without looking sluty when paired with a nice chiffon blouse. The chiffon shirt caught my eye with its vintage inspired neckline and its white and blue colour block. My handbag was vintage. On my feet I wore a pair of white platform court shoes to match with the white on my shirt. On my legs I ore patterned tights with bow/ribbon detail on the thigh of which I could have done without. I could have just worn the outfit with a pair of plain black tights so it doesn't look too busy.

The quality of my camera is not that good so apologise if the pictures are not that clear. I really need to invest in a new camera.
